Distant Learning

Distant Learning Information

Please continue to check this website for school closure updates.  Due to limited staff, please email general school closure questions to cheryl.lugo@meusd.org  or leave a voicemail at (619) 766-4464.

We hope this update finds you and your family healthy and safe. We have launched our distant learning on Tuesday, April 14, and this plan will continue until returning to school has been deemed safe for everyone. We are very hopeful that if each of us continues to do our part in practicing social distancing by staying at home, allowing sufficient space between us, and wearing facial protection as recommended, we will be able to return to our schools before the end of the school year. We haven't given up that hope and we hope you haven't either.

1. Distant Learning

Two weeks of content has been provided so students and teachers can all learn how to work and communicate remotely.  The 1st packet is due April 27th and for those students who are able to work from google classroom be able to submit their work online.  For those students without internet, packets will be provided.

2.  Chromebook

The Chromebook, provided at the beginning of the school year, will be used to access their grade level work.  If you are having difficulty with your Chromebook, please email chuck.townsend@meusd.org .

3. Food Distribution

Student meals continue to be provided to our students until further notice. Meals may be picked every Monday at all MEUSD Elementary sites from 11:30-1:00.  Distribution will be done in a drive-through fashion, with no exiting of vehicles.  Children will receive 5 breakfasts and lunches for the week.

4. Grades:

Students may maintain and improve their grades through participation in distance learning beginning on April 14.

5. Access to Technology:

All students should have their chromebooks with them and students should charge them regularly. For those families, currently without internet access, you may be able to access the internet for free or at a very low cost at this time at this website:
